We’re completely changing the face of our prewired assemblies. We used to have drop-down menus where you could choose options for assemblies and configure one just the way you wanted, with pickguard, pickups, knobs, whatever. But trying to make this work has become too complicated. For instance, some pickups are only sold in sets, while others are only sold individually. And some pickguards require a separate shield plate, while others don’t. And some pickups already come with covers, while others don’t. And so on. It’s been a nightmare trying to make it all work, and it ended up requiring a long page of instructions, so we’ve decided to simplify.
Moving forward, our prewired assemblies will be very simple. Only a few options. And you won’t be able to select all of the peripheral products (the pickups, pickguards, knobs, etc.) from drop-down menus. But you will be able to add a simple prewired assembly to your shopping cart, and if you also add pickups, or a pickguard, or both, then we’ll put it all together for you. We’ll try this new simplified method and see how it works. We think it will make life simpler.
This is in place now on Strat products, and the prewired products for the other guitars will follow soon.
